Summary of Terror
Fleming suggests to Arnott that the link between Laverty's money laundering scam and Gates may be his children's expensive school fees. When Arnott visits the school, he comes to know that Laverty paid the deposit. Moreover, she also paid the first full term in cash for Gates’ daughters. Arnott returns to AC-12.
Meanwhile, Hastings and Arnott decide to bring in the rest of Gates' squad to question them over the 'laddering' charge. Morton refuses to say anything,
Fleming sticks to her cover of AC-12 and backs up Gates. However, during Hastings' interrogation of Cottan, about the night of the surveillance on Greek Lane, he claims that Gates ordered Kapoor and himself to end surveillance. This leads Hastings to believe that Gates knew that the drug dealers were working with Jackie Laverty.
On the other hand, forensic evidence at the crime scene and Arabic books belonging to the victims leads Gates to cook up a story regarding a possible terrorist plot. Gates persuades his superior that the drug dealers were in fact terrorists building a bomb. As the investigation of money laundering was handed to fraud squad, gates still are harassed, because his black mailers still need more. He tries to find out the location where Jackie Laverty's body is being kept.
He finds the location where he was held, but Laverty's body has disappeared. He receives another call from 'Tommy', who tells him that Arnott has been poking his nose into Laverty's businesses which is causing them to lose profits. Arnott is under threat as gates is told to get him out of the way, these orders were from Tommy.
Fleming sets out to gain Gates’ trust since they need to gather further evidence, to connect him to Jackie’s murder. Morton who is known as a close friend and colleague to Gates, catches her with two identical phones belonging to her. After he hurts Kate physically, he is on search to find Gates. Hastings and Arnott tell Hilton of a witness that claims that Gates controlled events. This led to the murder of 2 drug dealers.
Arnott is lured to a warehouse by a telephone call from the owner of the hairdresser purporting to lead to more information linking Gates to the gang. He sets up a meet, but when Arnott arrives, he finds Gates colluding with the gang.

Review of Terror
I think, this was, in many ways, the darkest installment of the series yet, challenging to watch in places but rewarding those who stuck with it with an hour of fine drama. I would like to give credit as the audience seems to keep predicting where gates will go because of Lennie James’ performance.
There was equally a buildup of suspense and drama. As we see all of this, I would find it to be one of my favorite episodes. It was also an excellent episode as it revealed secrets that were unexpected. We have seen Dot’s old gambling addiction.
Furthermore, knowing about a money-laundering business by Jackie before her death.
THEME OF THE EPISODE
As I mentioned in the last episode’s review, this show is at its best in the smaller moments. Friendship and loyalty. In my opinion, the interview scene included in Line of Duty were the most intense moments. As we get answers that contribute to the arrest of many individuals. Once again, the strengths of the characters emerge in these terse exchanges. There is a friendship between Hastings and Hilton as the men discussed, an agreement or as it was a misunderstanding.
Tony Gates, meanwhile, now seems to have lost all claims towards being "good police" – in this episode we saw him intimidate junior officers, falsify evidence, obstruct a police investigation, and hand over a fellow officer to torture.
MAIN SCENES
I tried listing some of the main scenes from the episode:
The most unreal scene for me: Where Kate Fleming was desperately trying to convince Gates that she was the only person who could really relate to him.
I wasn’t convinced about her being told by Gates about details of his relationship between Jackie and him. As this was my first thought on the situation. Even though there was good looks and alcohol. There is also an understanding manner that could always be great. This scene was exceptionally made.
Yet once again, it’s the final few minutes of the episode that give us more to talk about, as DS Arnott is roused from a beating only to find himself mid-handshake with a vice. I was almost certain that Gates would kill himself rather than sacrifice Arnott. His cold-blooded decision was almost more shocking than Jackie's brutal murder at the end of episode two.
What will Arnott’s fate be? Has Arnott escaped the end to his fingers, or will Kate rescue him. We can’t see him losing more than one pinkie, but in a series, this dark it wouldn’t be a complete surprise if he was killed either.
Is there a way back for Gates? Gates seems to have built himself down without a way up. We’ve endured the shockwaves of his corruption and his weaknesses, and now it’s time to enjoy seeing him get what’s coming to him. Because don’t think we’ve forgotten about the glass in the police station dishwasher…
